Asia Argento and Ashton Whitty

Ashton Blaise Whitty is an American actress, born in Berkeley on October 1, 1995. Her work is recognized as an actress in Choices (2010). The Heart and Other Small Shapes (2007) and Chrissie's Content House

Asia Argento, born in Rome to a household that includes actors and directors, pursued both professions. In 1985 she made her acting debut in Sergio Citti's Sogni e bisogni. In 1988, she played the leading role in Cristina Comencini's debut film, Zoo (1988), and also was part of the cast of The Church (1989), directed by Michele Soavi. In 1989, she was Nanni Moretti's (also directed) daughter in Red Wood Pigeon. It was in Close Friends (1992), written and directed by Michele Placido, that Asia's career really took off and she could move on from playing very young girls into larger, more sophisticated roles. Cannes International Film Festival received the film well. The film, Trauma (1993), she was the first to work with her father, well-known Italian horror director Dario Argento (her mother is among the most beloved actors of Argento, Daria Nicolodi, playing an anorexic girl in search for her parents' killer. The Phantom of the Opera is her third film together with the director's father. The others are Trauma as well as The Stendhal Syndrome. Giuseppe Piccioni's Condannato a nozze demonstrated Asia's intense manner in performing. In 1993, she appeared as Arianna in Carlo Verdone's Perdiamoci di vista, a role so complex that she won the David di Donatello Award for best actress. Patrice Chereau was the director. Queen Margot. The actress had an international part. In 1995, Asia worked alongside Michel Piccoli to produce Peter Del Monte's Traveling Companion, for which she won a David di Donatello. Asia began directing in 1994 when she made two short films: Prospettive (1996), a document on her father and her mother, as well as Abel/Asia (1998) Abel/Asia, a feature on the legendary film maker Abel Ferrara. The latter was awarded an award at the Rome Film Festival. Asia's debut feature film is Scarlet Diva (2000) in 1999. She also played the role of lead actress as well as wrote the screenplay. The film came out in May 2000 in Italy and around the world. The film won a prize during the Williamsburg International Film Festival in Brooklyn. Anna Lou, her first child was born to her in 2001. She directed a number of music videos. She appeared in 2002 featured in The Red Siren directed by Olivier Megaton and starred alongside Jean-Marc Barr. Rob Cohen also directed the action film together with Vin Diesel. Asia also wrote several short stories which have been published by a number of magazines.
